Virtual workshop in which I’ll demonstrate multiple variations of custom trim using coordinating yarns, fabrics as well as fibers pulled from your fashion fabric. If you’ve never taken one of my workshops, this is the perfect place to start. You’ll learn the basic techniques I use to create custom trims. You will have an opportunity to practice the techniques during class.
I will be demonstrating how the Trim Tubes are used. Purchase of Trim Tubes is optional. I will demonstrate numerous trims that don’t require them. I offer kits containing swatches of boucle fabric plus measured lengths of yarn. I will use the materials in the kit for the class demo. Kits are available WITH and WITHOUT hooks. If you already have crochet hooks in sizes C, D, E and F be sure to purchase the correct kit. You may also use your own materials.
If you are sourcing your own supplies, have crochet hooks in sizes C, D, E and F available. Also gather a variety of yarns. Sport weight yarn in colors to coordinate with your chosen fabrics works best. Consider a variety of textures as well as metallic yarns.
Those familiar with basic crochet stitches will benefit most from this workshop. If you’ve never done crochet work, familiarize yourself with the chain stitch, single and double crochet. There are numerous YouTube and Craftsy videos available. I will do a quick demo of the basic stitches.
