This class will cover many methods of creating and using tubular yarns. We will explore yarns made from fine weight knitting yarn, tubular yarns available by the skein as well as tubular yarns pulled from fashion fabric.
I will demonstrate how to use an I-cord knitting device; available on Amazon. Many of these trims also utilize the set of Trim Tubes, available in my shop at Cloning Couture.com. Purchase of the Trim Tubes isn’t absolutely necessary for the class. You can watch and decide if these are tools you would make use of before purchasing.
A supply kit is available if you would like to use the same materials I will be using for the demo. You can source your own materials as well. The kit will include various tubular yarns and bias strips of silk you will use to make very narrow tubes. Also swatches of coordinating fabrics.
Supplies NOT INCLUDED in the kit: 1) A skein of lace weight or other fine weight yarn for use with the I-cord knitter. 2) Crochet hooks in sizes C,D,E and F are helpful when inserting the metal trim tubes into tubular yarns; crochet hooks also needed to crochet along the edges of the braided trim. 3) Larger crochet hooks sizes G,H,J are used for combining fibers to make thicker strands. These items are available on Amazon or in craft stores. Photos are for your reference.
The class on Sunday October 18 covers the same material as the October 15 class. I’m presenting it twice as one time may be more convenient. Class will be recorded and you will receive a link to watch and download the recording. You may save the recording to your own device and rewatch as often as you like.
